Routes from Es Mercadal
Es Mercadal sits at the foot of the El Toro mountain, the highest on the island at 358 m. On its summit is a sanctuary and a fourteenth-century square tower and from here you can enjoy an exceptional panoramic view over the island.
Set in the centre of the island, this town is famous for its traditional sweets, craftsman-made sandals and restaurants serving traditional island cuisine.
Nearby is the natural bay of Fornells, Cala Tirant cove, the Cavalleria lighthouse and Cala Pregonda cove, also the Son Parc and Arenal d’en Castell developments.
